چکیده

We consider the properties of a specific distribution mixed quantum states arbitrary dimension that can be biased towards mean purity. In particular, we analyze mixtures Haar-random pure with Dirichlet-distributed coefficients. analytically derive concentration parameters required to match purity Bures and Hilbert--Schmidt distributions in any dimension. Numerical simulations suggest this value recovers exactly, offering an alternative intuitive physical interpretation for ensembles Hilbert--Schmidt-distributed random states. then demonstrate how substituting these Dirichlet-weighted Haar place results measurable performance advantages machine-learning-based state tomography systems Bayesian reconstruction. Finally, experimentally characterize generated by both cloud-accessed IBM computer in-house source polarization-entangled photons. each case, our method more closely underlying than either or distributed various experimental conditions.

Transformations of Biased Distributions

Most approaches to reducing (or eliminating) the use of randomness in probabilistic algorithms can be viewed as attempts to replace the probability space from which the algorithm samples by a much smaller one. The use of limited independence among the random choices of the algorithm has long been used as a technique for constructing small spaces that \approximate" the exponential-sized spaces r...

the role of application of dynamic assessment approach in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels

the present study sought to investigate the role of dynamic assessment (da) in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels. to this end, after conducting the quick placement test, 60 iranian efl learners were assigned to two groups with different language proficiency levels. in both groups each participant wrote two compositions, one before and one af...

Improving Faded Turbo Code Performance Using Biased Channel Side Information

Turbo decoding is based on the concept of maximum likelihood decision on blocks of data. The decision on a bit affects the decoding of subsequent bits. Fading is a type of corruption whose effect can be extended over a period of multiple bits, resulting in significant performance degradation for turbo code. In this paper, a Markov process is utilized to model a fading channel, and bit error rat...

0 Teleportation : from probability distributions to quantum states

The role of the off-diagonal density matrix elements of the entangled pair is investigated in quantum teleportation of a qbit. The dependence between them and the off-diagonal elements of the teleported density matrix is shown to be linear. In this way the ideal quantum teleportation is related to an entirely classical communication protocol: the one-time pad cypher. The latter can be regarded ...

Treatment of Biased Error Distributions in SBAS

The original protection level equations for SBAS assumed that all actual error distributions could be easily overbounded by zero-mean gaussian distributions. However, several error sources have since been found that could lead to significant biases for specific users. The expectation is that over long periods of time and all users, the aggregate errors should have a very small mean. However, ce...
